Introduction

Hi Everyone,

We are Elyse and Hank and we live on Belmont Ave near Lake Shore Drive in Chicago. Hank drives all the way down Belmont everyday to work in Elk Grove Village near the airport. We have noticed many restaurants that we would like to try so Elyse decided that it would be a great idea to eat our way from Lake Shore Drive all the way west to Cumberland, and enjoy all of these places, in order, from East to West.

A few rules:
  • No chains (a chain is defined as a restaurant with 4 or more locations, like Giordano's)
  • No coffee houses
  • Diners, dives and bars that serve food are included!
  • Part of the restaurant must be on Belmont, although it may have a different street address (e.g., Jack's on Halsted)
We'll try to visit at least one restaurant per week, and maybe more! Join us on our eating adventure!!

  2. How about the Harmony Grill @ Shuba's? I know it is on Southport- Close enough to Belmont?

  3. Kuma's Corner.....All I can say is the "BBQ Pork Fries w/ Jack Cheese" appetizer is HUGE and to die for! Lori & I joined Henry & Elyse last week for some great food and friendship:). The BIG burgers are good....maybe a tad overcooked for the medium rare Judas Priest we ordered. I suggest ordering rare if you want medium rare. Good bottled beer selection with many I had never heard of. I suggest trying al least a couple of different flavors. We ate outside in the cozy courtyard which was conversation friendly. If you like LOUD hard rock (Metallica, Motorhead, etc..) then the inside is definately for you. Lori and I had a few beers at the bar before meeting H & E for dinner. Not much conversation but enjoyed the music. I recommend everyone to try the Kuma's experience at least once. I give Kuma's 2 3/4 stars (1 - 4 scale)...and we look forward to our next Belmont dining experience with Henry & Elyse!!! Happy Blogging....TTFN
